After knocking the door of the NHRC, the DG (SR) and IG (SR), the high profile Pramodini murder and rape incident of Dekhali under K Nuagaon Police Circle unde Ganjam district once again has reached Brahmapur SP for justice.
Having found no tangible progress in the probe even after 145 days of the incident, BJP leader, social activist and lawyer Srikant Padhi accompanied by deceased’s mother Rama Nayak, family members and relatives of the deceased and some villagers met Brahmapur SP Pinaki Mishra and submitted a memorandum to him here on Sunday demanding an impartial and expeditious probe against the alleged murder and rape case.
Notably, this is our fifth and last meeting with the SP in the matter, said Padhi adding that the crime comes under the constituency of the Assembly Speaker Surjya Narayan Patro.
Reacting to the deliberate delay in probe, Padhi said that the rape and murder of 22-year-old Pramodini Naik is another case of atrocities against women under the BJD rule in Ganjam.
Padhi demanded either SIT or CBI probe into the case.Pramodini had been missing from home for a few days and her body was recovered from an isolated canal near her home.
SP Mishra assured Padhi that an investigation was on and the culprit would be brought to book by October end, Padhi said and warned of launching stir if justice was not done to the deceased soon.
