Brahmapur SP Dr Sravan Vivek M handed over a cheque worth Rs 50 lakh out of the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund here on Thursday to Anuradha, wife of frontline Covid Warrior SR Narashingh Das who died of Covid-19 while on duty.
Late Das was working as a Home Guard in Brahmapur Police District who tested Corona positive while on duty during second phase of the pandemic and had died. The son of the deceased received the cheque.
Earlier, the SP had also handed over similar ex-gratia payment of Rs 50 lakh from the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund each to the family members of late ASI Krushna Chandra Mandal and late Constable Jitendra Pradhan who died of Covid while on duty at the Brahmapur Traffic Police Station and in Bada Bazar PS under Brahmapur Police District, respectively.
