A debt-saddled man, Ashok Kumar Raula, of Sadhesasan village in the Biridi area of Jagatsinghpur district committed suicide after hanging himself from a tree on Sunday.
Report said that Ashok on Sunday morning consumed tea in a stall at Anikhia Bazar and then moved towards Adhangagada. But later surprisingly, locals found that Ashok’s body hanging from a tree near Adhanga road and informed the Biridi police. The body was seized by police and sent for postmortem in the District Headquarters Hospital here. Family sources informed that the deceased had borrowed huge money for family spending. Over last few days, he had gone into depression for his inability to repay the loans. Two days ago, he had sold a cow for repaying a few old debts.
