A youth was arrested by the Town police here on Sunday for allegedly issuing death threats to Kandhamal district Collector Reghu G over his cell phone on Saturday.
The accused was arrested basing on the complaint lodged by the Collector alleging to have received the threats from different phone numbers.
The accused was identified as Kuna Diggal (29) of lambagudi
village in Khajurpadi block of the district.
Police said Diggal admitted of having made the threat calls as he was angry over the inaction of the district administration on his petition regarding the wrongdoings in a school in his village.
Diggal was booked under Sections 294, 189, 500, 506 and 507 of IPC and was forwarded to court.
