The Additional District and Sessions Judge of Jajpur on Thursday sentenced a 35-year-old jilted man to death for killing a 17-year-old college girl of his village Nibinia under the Tamaka police station on April 26, 2013.
Judge Rohit lal Panda convicted Banabihari Behera and pronounced the verdict under Section 302 (murder) of the IPC. The case registered against Banabihari had alleged that he killed Biswakalpita Behera, a Plus Two Arts student, in broad daylight in front of many villages, including her mother.
