Deadline ends; CBI yet to end Seashore probe

Upset over the Central Bureau of Investigation’s (CBI) failure in completing the probe into the Seashore chit fund scam by May 31 as directed by the Supreme Court, Seashore Group of Companies again threatened to bring the issue to the notice of the apex court.

“The Supreme Court had directed the CBI to complete the probe in the Seashore case by May 31. Till date nothing tangible has happened as yet in this regard. We hope that the CBI will submit the final chargesheet and take necessary measures in a day or two. Else we will bring the issue to the notice of the court,” said Seashore CMD Prashant Dash’s counsel.

Meanwhile, Dash during his routine court appearance here said the probe should be completed as soon as possible and investors get their money at the earliest.

“The matter is sub-judice and I can’t tell more but I can’t understand why the probe process is getting delayed. It should be completed as soon as possible. Efforts should be taken to refund money to the depositors,” said Dash.
