In what could be termed as a major goof-up, the Odisha Police on Tuesday issued a notification mentioning transfer of a cop, who had died last year.
Deceased Subedar Kampal Naik, who was posted at the 7th SIR Battalion, Koraput, was “transferred” to the 5th Battalion, Baripada, as per the notification.
Realising the mistake, the Odisha Police later issued a corrigendum mentioning about the cancellation of the “transfer” and termed it as a “typographical error”.
