A drug de-addiction centre at Janla on the outskirts of the city was sealed by police on Tuesday after a video of brutal assault on inmates went viral in social media.
The Info Valley police sealed the centre run by the Lakshya Charitable Trust. Sources said the centre would remain shut till completion of a probe.
While two staffs of the de-addiction centre were asked to appear before police daily, the prime accused in the case was still on the run.
Recently, a video showing physical assaults on drug addicts admitted to the de-addiction centre went viral. Some inmates were found tied up and thrashed mercilessly by employees of the centre.
Allegations were also levelled that some people were deliberately getting their family members admitted to the centre to grab properties.
