The Puri unit of the BJP on Sunday demanded that Brahmagiri MlA and Food Supplies and Consumer Welfare Minister Sanjay Dasburma resign ommediately as the CBI has already issued a notice to him over his alleged links in the chit fund scam.
“The CBI has issued a notice to Dasburma for his links with Artha Tatwa chit fund company. But Dasburam, by not deposing before the investigating agency, has hoodwinked people of Odisha and degraded dignity of Brahmagiri. The Chief Minister should make a statement in the public as to why Dasburma has not resigned from his Ministerial team,” wanted to know party leaders at a Press conference here.
BJP puri district president Pravanjan Mohapatra, senior leader Krushna Jagadev, Dr Debendra Nath Tarei, Krushna Chandra Panda and Prafulla Prasad Gajendra slammed the Chief Minister for remaining silent on the issue.
They too alleged that while Dasburma has invested ill-gotten chit fund money in five firms and is involved in an engineering college scam, many BJD leaders are trying to save him from ouster.
They threatened to take to the street with people of Brahmagiri if Dasburma is not ousted from his Ministerial post soon.
