A youth (20) of Rampur Outpost under the Brajrajnagar police station was brutally murdered due to past enmity allegedly by his friends. The deceased was well-known dancer Satyajit Bag.
During night patrolling on April 30, a police team came across two persons disposing a dead body packed in a bag. But they managed to escape from the spot
leaving behind their motor cycle and the bag.
Sources said that on April 29 two friends Sanjay Sahis (22) and Chotu Kewat(24) of Rampur colliery area picked up their friend Satyajit from his home on the plea of a feast. There, Satyajit was given drink mixed with drugs. During late night that day, two friends hit Satyajit with a stick and later killed him by throttling his neck with a rope.
Next day evening, while trying to dispose the body, they came face to face with the police patrolling team and escaped from the spot. Under directions from Jharsuguda district SP US Dash, three teams were deputed by the Brajrajnagar police to different places and finally police succeeded in nabbing the two accused, said Brajrajnagar SDPO in a Press conference at Brajrajnagar PS on May 19.
The main accused Sanjay disclosed that he was searching for an opportunity to kill Satyajit after the latter had kidnapped his sister.
Both the accused have confessed to the crime before police.
