Expelled senior BJD leader Damodar Rout on Saturday lashed out at his arch rival BJD Jagatsinghpur district president Bishnu Das terming him as a ‘corrupt’, ‘hated’ and ‘characterless’ person.
Rout said to mediapersons, “Bishnu Das is such a corrupt and characterless person that he never hesitates to take bribe from pensioners. He is even hated in his own Jagatsinghpur unit.”
“Has Das ever organised a party meeting outside Jagatsinghpur or worked with people of my constituency Paradip? Rout questioned.
“I can assure that his career is over and he will never be able to go to the Assembly again,” Rout said.
Meanwhile, amid talks on formation of a new regional party by loyalists of Biju Patnaik and those ousted from the BJD, Rout said he would be meeting his supporters in Paradip in a few days to decide on his future course of action.
On the other hand, Das ridiculed Rout’s statement that the latter would tour whole Odisha and fight against corruption like Anna Hazare. Das said Dambabu is “a dead crab”. He cannot move Rs from one place but is saying that he would be touring the whole State like Anna.
He added, “I don’t have to prove my character because someone says about it. The people of the Odisha know about it.”
