In the wake of the BJD’s by-poll debacle in the prestigious Cuttack Municipal Corporation, the infighting in the ruling party came to the fore once again with Minister Damodar Rout and his bête noire Cuttack-Choudwar MlA Debashis Samantray indulging in war or words on Sunday.
“He (Debashis) is a gatua musha (hole-living rat). He is now trying to make a hole in Paradip (Rout’s constituency),” Rout told reporters here, adding, “Why should I talk more about him to enhance his importanceIJ”
Reacting to this, Samantray said, “It is not befitting for him to talk like this as he (Rout) is a senior leader. The party would decide.”
Notably, Rout had on Saturday, commenting on BJD candidate’s defeat in the CMC Ward-21 by-poll, had blamed Samantray for it, saying that ouster of CMC Chairperson Anita Behera was not a sound decision of the party. The by-election was held after Behera’s removal as the Corporator of the ward.
