Members of the Manavbadi Hetubadi Sangathan and many intellectuals held a protest meeting in front the Khallikote College here on Saturday over the alleged killing of Dalit people by different organisations in the country in the name of “Gau Suraksha”.

The Sangathan lamented that Prime Minister Narendra Modi rose to react to the ‘barbaric’ act of Gau Rakshaks after many people were killed during his last three years’ tenure. Notably, Modi recently said that killing of people in the name “Gau Surksha” would not be accepted in the Gandhi’s country.

However, they supported Modi’s statement and demanded that he takes immediate steps to stop the barbaric forthwith.

Among others, association secretary Raja Suresh, Bhal Chandra Sadangi, lawyer Pitabash Panda, Bank employees’ leader Pradeep Chaudhury, Ashok Dash, Madhav Kothia, Suneja Panigrahi, Pratap Chandra Pradhan and Kameswar Rao were present.
