After entering the Shreemandir through their jerky Pahandi Bije on Wednesday, lord Jaganath, lord Balabhadra and Devi Subhadra spent the night almost awakened in the sanctum sanctorum till Thursday morning.
The Pahuda Niti of the lords remained off in the night, which left deities stranded on the podium till the morning arrival. It was most audacious acts of Daitas towards lords, alleged an SJTA official.
Daitas did not listen to the request of the SJTA, added the official.
Notably, Nilachal Bije (entry to temple) of deities began at 5 pm near the lions Gate on Wednesday. The three deities were enthroned on the Ratnasinghasan by 9.30 pm also, much before the scheduled time.
The temple administration did it to ensure that deities reached temple early so that Pahuda Niti (sleeping ritual) can be accomplished before time.
“Daitapatis did not let Pahuda Niti happen rather they played gimmick among themselves in the temple. For them only, the deities remained awakened till morning,” said the official.
All officials on duty in the temple too spent sleepless night, he added
