A day after lord Balabhadra’s Daru was identified at the Sarala Pitha in Jhankada village, a Daitapati team led by Ramakrushna Das Mohapatra accompanying seven servitors visited the selected Daru site and took stock of the preparations. They held discussion with the Collector and senior cops on Saturday. The Daita team after performing Puja at the Sarala temple moved to the Daru site and inspected the neem tree and talked with the officials for the proposed Yajana to be held on April 22 and 23.

They later visited Sabarpalli where accommodations would be built for the Banajaga members during their stay at Jhankada. Mohapatra said after lord Sudarshan’s Daru was transported to Puri, Daita members would arrive at Jhankada within two days. Meanwhile, parking places for the vehicles coming from Jagatsinghpur, Balikuda, Paradip and Cuttack have been identified near the Daru site. For streamlining law and order, 15 platoons of police force will be deployed under the supervision of district SP, magistrate, two additional SPs, 33 SIs and nine inspectors, said sources.
