The State on Saturday registered a slight decline in Covid-19 infections with reporting of 681 cases from 26 districts and State pool. With this, the total tally increased to 10,10,753.The new cases included 118 children in the age group of 0 to18 years. Notably, the State had reported 849 cases on Friday.In the last 24 hours, total 67,229 samples were tested. The test positivity rate (TPR) was 1.01% and active cases 7,186. Of the new cases, 398 were detected from quarantine and 283 local contacts.Khordha district reported the day's highest 222 cases followed by Cuttack with 101, Baleswar 34, Jajpur 33, Mayurbhanj 27, Puri 26, Sundargarh 20, Dhenkanal and Jagatsinghpur 19 each, Angul 18, Bargarh 14, Ganjam 13, Keonjhar, Nayagarh and Sambalpur 10 each, Bhadrak, Deogarh and Kendrapada nine each, Subarnapur six, Jharsuguda and Rayagada five each, Kalahandi four, Boudh, Koraput and Malkangiri three each and Nabarangpur one. Besides, 48 positive cases were reported from State pool.Five persons died of disease in last 24 hours, pushing total toll to 8,040. One death each was reported from Bhadrak, Cuttack, Kendrapada, Khordha and Nabarangpur districts.However, 826 patients recovered in last 24 hours, increasing total recoveries to 9,96,300.
