The city police foiled a massive loot bid and arrested six miscreants near the Goods Shed Road in the early hours here on Friday.
As many as eight miscreants had gathered at an abandoned house on the outskirts of the city under Gosaninuagam police station limits and were preparing a blueprint to organize the loot, when police on a tipoff raide the spot. Two miscreants managed to flee. The police seized a mouser, a magazine and two life bullets from the looters.
The six arrested were identified as Jitendra Roula, Sanjay Kumar Sahu alias Buddu, G Shankar, Vickey Jena, Anantram Biswal alias Badda, and Muna Nayak alias Shilla, respectively, said SDPO Thakur Prasad Patra in a Press meet here. An investigation is on and the remaining two miscreants would be nabbed soon, he revealed.
