Police foiled a dacoity bid by arresting five miscreants on Monday night in Jajpur town while they were planning to commit the planned crime in a nearby village.
The arrestees were identified as Pramod Kumar Das, Bijaya Pradhan, Chinmaya Pradhan of Jajpur town, Rabi Rao of Visakhapatnam and Bhima Raju of Sorada.
The police seized two motorbikes, two sharp weapons, three mobile phones and a chill powder packet from their possession, said Jajpur Town PS IIC Prasant Kumar Malla.
On Tuesday, all the arrestees were produced in the JMFC Court at Jajpur Town. The court rejected their bail applications and remanded them to judicial custody.
