For the third time, a court here on Tuesday allowed the Commissionerate Police to take the arrested mafia Dhalasamant brothers on remand for custodial interrogation in connection with their alleged involvement in murder of their former associates.
This time the SDJM court granted the police remand for seven days while the police had already taken them on remand for 12 days in two phases ever since they were arrested on January 29. The remand was granted with the condition that the accused persons shall be medically examined regularly and shall not be subjected to any third degree treatment during the course of remand period.
The city police in the meantime picked up yet another associate of the mafia brothers from near the court premises while the brothers were being produced in the court on the day. With these, the police have arrested a total of nine persons, including the brothers, in connection with the November 2013 abduction and murder case.
