The Commissionerate Police on Tuesday claimed to have solved the mysterious disappearance of Dipu Mallick and Om, the former close aides of the arrested brothers Sushant and Sushil Dhalsamant.

Commissioner of Police Yogesh Bahadur Khurania told reporters that Dipu and Om were killed in Odisha and their bodies were disposed of outside the State by the criminal brothers.

The Commissioner, however, did not reveal anything more about the location of the crime and the place of disposition of the bodies.

He said the police will be in a position to give details after two days.

“I can’t say anything more at this stage. let the investigation reach that level; then only we will be able to share the details,” he said.

Since 2000, both Dipu and Om were working as tender-fixers for their bosses Sushant and Sushil.

On January 18, a case was registered at the Chauliaganj police station in Cuttack on the basis of the complaint filed by Dipu’s father Adwaita Mallick following a direction from the Orissa High Court.

Investigating officials said the challenges before the police, however, will be to recover the body of Dipu and, if possible, the murder weapon too.

Interestingly, though there were allegations of two murders, only Dipu’s father has lodged the FIR. Dipu was allegedly abducted and killed in November, 2013.

The Dhalsamant brothers were arrested from a rented house near Pokhariput in Bhubaneswar on January 28.
