The Commissionerate Police here on Monday grilled a former Congress councillor of Rourkela Ashesh Mohanty alias Bulu in connection with his alleged business links with the arrested mafia Dhalsamant brothers.
City DCP Sanjiv Arora along with some other senior police officers questioned Mohanty at the Chauliaganj police station after he arrived in the city in the afternoon.
Speaking to reporters on his arrival, Mohanty said he received a communiqué from the office of the Commissioner of Police last week asking him to appear before the Cuttack police within seven days.
“I do not know the Dhalsamant brothers nor do I have any business links with them,” Mohanty said, adding that it was from the media that he came to know that he has been summoned for questioning in connection with his links with the mafia brothers.
