The TATA BSL Trade Union’s demonstration led by Er Debashisha Hota in front of the company’s main gate was withdrawn after a written assurance by the district administration.
More than 200 members of TATA BSL Trade Union on Thursday had begun the stir after taking out a huge rally from Kantabania police station against cheating of the company and its labour contractors including the TSPL, Jai Jagannath Engineering, Jai Maa Hingula Electrical and LKM Engineering. However, union leader Hota informed that the agitation was withdrawn only after written assurance given by the administration to hold an immediate preliminary meeting of DLO Satya Narayan Acharya with Er Hota and later, another meeting under the chairmanship of Collector Bhumesh Chandra Behera to sort out the problems within 15 days.
The demands included payment of salary of 32 labourers of Jai Jagannath Engineering, 34 labourers of Jai Maa Hingula Electrical, deposit of EPFs of labourers of LKM Engineering, payment of retrenchment compensation and registration of TATA BSL Trade Union.
