The Jeypore Citizen Committee on Sunday gave a warm reception to DGP BK Sharma here, where he had started his career as a Sub-Divisional Police Officer in 1989.
Jeypore MLA Tara Prasad Bahinipati, former Minister Rabi Narayan Nanda, Koraput SWR DIGP Shefeen Ahamed K, SP Mukesh Kumar Bhamoo and committee president Minaketan Dash felicitated Sharma. Sharma shared his experience while working as Jeypore SDPO and expressed his heartfelt gratitude towards Jeypore for making him what he is today. The DGP also assured to strengthen the policing system in Jeypore to the satisfaction of the local citizens and stated that soon Jeypore would have a cyber police station as decided by the State Government and a new state-of-the-art modern police station building.
