With the father of the casting couch victim insisting on withdrawal of the sexual harassment charge lodged against Tattwa Prakash Satpathy alias Papu Pompom leading to his arrest, the Khorda Child Welfare Committee (CWC) is seriously contemplating to rescue the minor girl from the clutch of her family.
A day after lodging a a compromise affidavit in the Khordha District and Sessions Judge Court here mentioning that he does not want to proceed with the case and appealed to the court to grant bail to the 43-year-old actor, the father of the victim on Tuesday told a TV channel that the girl whom police had taken to the court for recording of statement under Section 164 of the IPC was not his daughter.
“My daughter had gone to police station once. Since then, she has not gone anywhere. The girl taken to court by police was not my daughter,” said the casting couch victim’s father.
Strongly reacting over the development, CWC Member Benudhar Senapati said a situation now has come to rescue the girl.
“Who is heIJ Whenever we want to connect with the girl’s father, he avoids us, instead giving interviews to TV channels. The victim and her mother have extended cooperation to us. The victim has already recorded her statement before us in the presence of her mother and also before the court describing her ordeal,” said Senapati. Senapati said that under such circumstances, we do not feel that the girl is in a safe situation. “We are seriously contemplating for her rescue,” he added.
