CWC issues notice to Pal Heights hotel owner

Published on:

The Child Welfare Committee (CWC) on Wednesday issued notice to Pal Heights Hotel owner Satpal Singh to depose before it in connection with the death of a minor house maid, Khushi in the fire mishap at his house here recently.

Though the CWC asked Satpal before it on Thursday, he cited prior engagements and asked the committee time till Tuesday. Sources said he sought time in a written application.

The CWC had issued the notice based on the report of Childline, which it had asked to investigate into the death.

But when the Childline officials went to Satpal’s residence, they were refused entry by the security guards, who said nobody of the family was at home.

Earlier, Satpal had said that he knew that Khushi was a minor but his son Gagandeep had recruited her and also paid the salary.

It might be mentioned here that Satpal’s younger son Gagandeep, daughter-in-law Bhavana, grandchildren and the house maid had died in the fire mishap at his residence in Buddheswari Colony.
