Cuttak Cong workers burn CM, Minister's effigy

The Cuttack Congress workers, who were on dharna for last three days demanding resignation of the Higher Education Minister and transfer of Cuttack Collector, on Wednesday burnt their effigies along with that of the Chief Minister. Threatening to continue their tirade against the Minister Badri Narayan Patra for his alleged involvement in the question paper leak during the ongoing Plus II examinations and Collector Girish for allegedly not accepting a memorandumj from their youth wing, the protestors announced that they would henceforth boycott all the programmes of DM Girish SN, whom they called "an agent of ruling BJD".

In democratic setup, the bureaucrats should not act as activists of a ruling party and take coercive action against other political parties, said senior Congress leader Soumya Ranjan Patnaik.
