Cuttack worries for waterlogging

Anticipating heavy-to-very heavy rains accompanying the Cyclone Hudhud that is likely to affect the State on Sunday, the Cuttack district administration is more worried about Cuttack city’s inherent problem of waterlogging.

looking at the precarious drainage system of the city, which is undergoing a massive renovation currently, the administration has asked the Cuttack Municipal Corporation to remain alert with adequate pumps to remove waterlogging immediately from the low-lying areas. Meanwhile, the CMC has undertaken a drive to de-silt the drains since Tuesday, a regular exercise that is familiar with the civic body during pre-monsoon days.”We are more worried about the waterlogging problem of the city and have kept at least 200 pumps ready to remove waterlogging from low-lying areas immediately,” said CMC Commissioner GR Das.
