The city police on Tuesday arrested Bandit Binay Sen alias lubun — young, promising choreographer and music director — from Abhinav Bidanasi on the charges of cheating, blackmailing and extortion of money from a woman artist.
"Based on a written complaint filed by the girl's father, we have arrested the accused under Sections 420 and 386 of IPC," said the Markat Nagar Phase II police station Inspector Anusuya Naik. Also, police said they seized video cameras, cassettes, computers and mobile phones from the house of the accused and there is prima facie evidence against him.
lubun of the famous Odia album maker group of lubun-Tubun had been summoned by police on Monday night and detained at the police station. After quizzing him whole night, he was arrested on Tuesday and presented in the court.
Police said lubun constantly threatened the complainant's 20-year-old daughter after developing a relationship with her. Taking advantage of certain pictures of the girl, he allegedly blackmailed her by demanding money, police said.
