looking at the disinterest among volunteers during the pick summer to donate blood, the Marwari Yuva Manch of the city organised a blood donation camp here on Saturday in which 60 units of blood were collected.
"We have donated all the collected units of blood to Red Cross Blood Bank for use of thalassemia patients only," said the Marwari Yuva Manch president Prakash Agarwal. "These patients require fresh units of blood every month for survival and as there is an acute shortage of blood in the Blood bank in this season, we organised the donation camp accordingly," Agarwal said, adding that the Manch is prepared for more such camps in the season, if need arises.
He said motivators were out to persuade the volunteers in the city for this camp and as many as 10 women donated blood on the day.
