A meeting of the lions Club of Cuttack Mahanadi under the chairmanship of Sambit Mishra to observe Magazine Month and to felicitate former district governor Satya Narayan Sahu was held here on Friday.
To commemorate the occasion a colourful souvenir with articles contributed by more than 125 eminent persons on the achievement of Sahu was released by the chief guest lala Jagdish Ray.
Prof Dr Babaji Charan Patnaik and Prof Dr Archana Naik joined as guest of honour and chief speaker. Club president Sambit Mishra spoke about the significance of Magazine Month in the lions calendar of events. lion Promoda Das, Savitri Choudhury, lion Bishop DK Mohanty introduced the guests.
PDG lion PK Sahoo said that Sahu became the first district governor comprising the entire Odisha when the lions Clubs International was observing the Platinum Jubilee year on completion of 75th years of its existence.
Among others, BN Patnaik, Gyana Ranjan Purohit, BK Behura, PDG lion Sushil Santuka, Basudev Panda and Sarat Kumar Dash spoke. Former district governors Nikunj Chotray, Dr Anjali Chhotray, Kalpana Biswal, Mahesh Tibrewal, Sushil Santuka, Justice Nityananda Prusty, Gyana Ranjan Purohit and Dr Sanatan Rath attended. Mayuri Krishna Sahu and Swikriti Mohanty performed dance.
