The Ravenshaw Collegiate School, an alma mater of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose, is gearing up along with other organisations in the city to observe the birth anniversary of the legendary leader on Thursday.
The Old Students’ Association of the school, like previous years, have decided to felicitate an old student of the school, Prof Dr Gouri Shankar Acharya, with Chhatra Gaurab award. Similarly, an old teacher of the school, Biswanath Mohapatra, will be hounoured with Kruti Shikshak award.
The association would also hold a public meeting in the school campus which several political leaders and old students of the school would attend.
The district administration has also chalked out plans to observe Netaji Jayanti, which would be on low key in view of the model code of conduct for the CMC elections in force.
The Netaji Birthplace Museum at Odia Bazar here is also getting a facelift for the occasion. Baba Ramdev is scheduled to visit the museum and garland the Netaji’s statue at the museum.
