Cuttack is all set to host a three-day mega commercial event, MSME Enterprise Odisha-2013, from Sunday. Swiftly limping back to normalcy after the Phailin, it is business as usual for the city.

The city will host the national level vendor development programme-cum-industrial exhibition and buyer-seller meet in which over 25 PSUs and as many as 110 MSMEs will participate. The event is being jointly organised by the Government of India’s MSME Development Institute and Government of Odisha’s Central Tool Room and Training Centre in association with the Odisha Industries Association (OIA) at the Baliyatra grounds here.

The OIA vice-president Rajesh Kanungo said the event would benefit the MSMEs of the State by providing marketing support with an objective to accelerate the pace of industrial growth in the State.  “The main focus of the programme is to bring buyers and sellers together on a common platform to understand each other’s capabilities, capacities and technical competency level,” he said.

Around 25 PSUs, large-scale industries, Government departments and financial institutions would participate in the programme as prospective buyers, and around 110 MSMEs engaged in producing diverse products would display their products in the exhibition, Kanungo said. The PSUs to participate in the programme include Nalco, MCl, NTPC, East Coast Railway, Tata Steel, HAl, PPT, DGS&D, CTTC, CIPET and IMMT.
