In an instance, officials deployed to enforce the lockdown have been caught flouting the Covid-19 norms. This has been reported from Cuttack, where an enforcement squad of Cuttack Municipal Corporation (CMC) officials was caught organising a feast violating the safety protocols. As per reports, over 12 staffs of the CMC enforcement squad were going ahead with the feast in a house near Nalini Mandap under the Bidanasi police limits on Thursday night throwing the Covid-19 norms to the wind. On receiving the information, the Bidanasi police conducted a raid on the house and stopped the feast.
The cops also imposed a fine of Rs 1,000 on officials and seized liquor bottles and biriyani from spot. Commenting on matter, CMC Commissioner Ananya Das said, “As of now, I have not received any such information regarding incident. However, strict action will be taken against the concerned officials if allegation is found to be true.”
