The Cuttack city police have arrested a dreaded criminal, who was wanted by several police stations of the State for his alleged involvement in over 30 heinous crimes. Akshay Sahoo alias Akhana was arrested from Hubli in West Bengal on Monday.
Speaking to reporters here on Tuesday, city DCP Sanjiv Arora said Akhana had absconded after the murder of one Prashant Pani in the city about six months ago. Police had arrested at least three accused in Pani’s murder case and were on the lookout of Akhana. Sources said Akhana was involved in at least 30 cases of murder, dacoity, extortion and bombing incidents in Cuttack, Jajpur,among other places.
