Cuttack bus-stand project hits legal roadblock

Published on:

The proposed Cuttack bus terminus, the foundation-stone of which was laid by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik last month, has entered into a legal wrangle as the Orissa High Court on Tuesday slapped a stay on the 12-acre project, a part of which is being claimed to be of deity Sri Sri Maa Smasan Kali of Khan Nagar. Adjudicating a writ application, a Division Bench of Justices Kumari Sanju Panda and SK Panigrahi asked the district authorities to maintain status quo over the moveable and immovable properties of the age-old temple spread over an area of more than three acres without changing the status and nature of the land.
