Currency crisis: CM to meet Modi today

Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, who is on visiting to New Delhi now, would meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday.

Chief Resident Commissioner in Delhi Dr Sunil K Bhargava said this to reporters on Sundayevening.

Patnaik is likely to discuss post-monetisation hitch with the Prime Minister and urge him to ensure that beneficiaries of different Government schemes don’t face problems in getting assistance. He is also likely to request the PM to take immediate steps for easy exchange of the scrapped `500 and `1000 currency notes in remote areas of the State.

Patnaik’s meeting assumes significance ahead of BJP national president Amit Shah’s visit to Odisha on November 25. Shah would attend the party’s Janajagaran Samabesh to be held here.
