Protesting the alleged irregularities in the Indira Awaas Yojana (IAY) occurred at Dadarpalli village under Durjantaila gram panchayat in Subarnapur district, a group of activists from Biramaharajpur in the district led by noted social worker Kallola Mishra demanded before the State Government for an impartial probe into the matter and necessary action to be taken against the persons to be found guilty.
The team submitted a petition to Chief Secretary Aditya Prasad Padhi and Panchayati Raj Department Commissioner DK Singh at the secretariat here on Thursday. In the written complaint, it was mentioned that four IAY houses have been constructed on Government land. As laxmidhar Nayak, Kaluru Padia, Budu Bhesara and Haraprasad Mahakur of Dadarpalli village do not have their own housing land. They have constructed IAY houses on Government land by showing fake homestead land patta. The BDO and former Sarapanch had sanctioned loan for the IAY houses.
The activists demanded an inquiry into the matter by the district Collector and the PD DRDA and strong action against the persons to be found guilty.
Notably, activist Mishra had earlier appraised Governor SC Jamir about the irregularities in provision of IAY houses, following which the Subarnapur district Collector was directed to conduct an inquiry into the matter.
