The Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI), Bhubaneswar Chapter organised a mega career counselling session, ‘Career as a Company Secretary’, at the SVM Autonomous College at Jagatsinghpur on Friday.
College Principal Prof RP Sahoo said career as a company secretary offers a high-degree job satisfaction and is financially rewarding and prestigious.
A company secretary has a crucial role in planning the objectives, strategies and policies of the company he works with, he added. ICSI Chairman Priyadarshi Nayak said the Companies Act, 2013 confers a special status to company secretary profession as a key managerial personnel (KMP). A CS holds prestigious posts like MD, CEO, and CFO.
The Principal thanked the ICSI for organising such a session in the college for the benefit of students.
A large number of students attended the counselling session.
