As per a direction of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, Chief Secretary Suresh Mohapatra and (5-T) Secretary VK Pandian, along with senior officials, visited Koraput and Nabarangpur districts on Wednesday and reviewed the preparations to tackle a third Covid wave and the progress of various development projects with focus on health, education and irrigation.
The officials visited the construction site of the proposed 650-bed SLN Medical College Hospital, Koraput. The project is targeted to be completed by 2023-end. The team also visited the Nabarangpur District Headquarters Hospital and inspected the construction site for the proposed 200-bed building. The engineers were asked to ensure its completion by September.
The officials visited the RCD Government Nodal High School, Nabarangpur and Government Girls’ High School, Koraput, and interacted with teachers, alumni and students. They reviewed the airstrip work at Jeypore. The projects include expansion of the runway and terminal building. Commercial flights to Jeypore are expected to start soon.
