Two persons in Cuttack city have been allegedly duped of Rs 43 lakh by fraudsters. The victims of Purighat and CDA areas lost money by investing in Crypto currency through a fake website.

The matter came to lights after the victims, both engineers, lodged complaints in connection with the fraud with the Cuttack Cyber police.

Sources said the victims had initially received a message on their WhatsApp. They were first added to a group and were given some tasks to perform. Initially, they received money immediately after performing the given tasks. It is alleged that the two engineers were promised 30 per cent of the tasks performed. However, they had to first deposit money for getting good return on their investment.

The scammers have looted around Rs 20 lakh from one engineer and Rs 23 lakh from the other under the guise of crypto currency trade.
