The Capital Region Urban Transport (CRUT) won the 2022 United Nations Public Service Award in the category of ‘Promoting gender-responsive public services to achieve the SDGs’ for its initiative ‘Mo Bus’.
This award is a prestigious international recognition of excellence in public service. The CRUT bagged the award for its contribution and development of public transport, achieving sustainable development goals and promoting gender-responsive public services.
Through the Mo Bus service, the CRUT has demonstrated excellence in serving the public interest of not only its commuters but also paved way for creation of employment opportunities, especially for women. Citizens are eagerly looking forward to a full-fledged service of CRUT’s one-of-its-kind initiative ‘Mo E-Ride’ where women and transgenders drive the e-rickshaws and the launch of electric Mo Buses.
“It’s a matter of pride to receive an international award and achieving various milestones in urban mobility sector of not only the State but the nation,” said CRUT General Manager (P&A) Dipti Mahapatro.
Newly-appointed CRUT MD Vijay Amruta Kulange congratulated the CRUT team on receiving the award and envisioned to strengthen the Mo Bus Services in the coming days.
Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik congratulated the CRUT on this achievement.
