The CRPF observed its 75th foundation day (golden jubilee) and 58th year raising day here.
To mark the occasion, it organised many colourful activities. Several events like glass breaking and bindi, ring bottle, water game, playing card, TT ball, ring throw, balloon shooting, ball throw, football throw and pot breaking were eye catching.
Food stalls with vegetarian and non-vegetarian cuisines at subsidised price were put up by happily serving the jawans. A well knit photo exhibition showing various social activities was put up to the rave reviews of the locals.
The CRPF campus was open to general public. Senior officers of the force as well as civil authority such as DIGP (ops) south Odisha Rajesh Dhakarwal, Commantant, 8th Battalion, Omkar Nath, Rayagada SP K Siva Subramani, SDPO Gunupur B Gangadhar, Commandant,118 BSF, Narayan Chand and 2nd I/C, 118 BSF, PK Mahandhata graced the festive mood of the jawans. All the religious heads of the district, media personnel and educational institutional heads also spent their valuable time in encouraging the august gathering. Children from orphanages named Adruta and Jagarnnath Niketan participated in the programme.
The students of various schools performed their best and entertained the public with their traditional dances and skits. The winners were duly felicitated with gifts and prizes.
Balaram Behera, Commandant-4th Battalion, CRPF spoke on detail activities conducted by his unit and tried again to develop the best relationship between CRPF and public. He gave a message to society that CRPF was there to maintain peace, tranquility and brotherhood by organising various activities.
