Board of Revenue Clerk Kiran Kumar Samantaray, whose houses and office room had been searched by the Vigilance and assets worth Rs 2,39,39,216 detected on Tuesday, was arrested and court- forwarded on Wednesday.
After inquiry, it was found that Samantaray was in possession of assets disproportionate to his known sources of income to the tune of Rs 2,00,55,018, which constitutes more than 400 per cent of his known sources of income, said an official release.
Samantaray was arrested and forwarded to the Court of Special Judge, Vigilance, Cuttack. The court remanded him to judicial custody till December 26, 2018. Investigation of the case was in progress, added the release.
