Crimes on rise in Paradip; cop inaction resented

Published on:

The law and order situation is worsening day by day in the port town of Paradip.

It is so evident from the fact that police have failed to nab culprits involved in crimes like burglaries and firings, committed many times in a months’ time now.

“The crimes are happening under the very nose of police. The law and order situation will worsen further, if the administration doesn’t intervene soon,” said some locals.

The latest incident occurred on July 1 in which two youths came to the Seaways Shipping Company office and looked for its branch manager, who was absent.

The youths threatened company staff to inform them as soon as the manager comes to the office.

Though the company filed an FIR, the police are yet to arrest the two accused.

Sources said the two goons were sent by an agency which is at loggerheads with the Seaways for bagging stevedoring works for the Jindal Steel and Power limited (JSPl).
