The Paradip BJD strongly protested the leakage of a letter by local MlA and Excise Minister Dr Damodar Rout to Jagatsinghpur SP and threatened to take to streets over the deteriorating law and order situation in the district.

The letter was written by the Excise Minister to the SP expressing concern over the deteriorating law and order situation in the port town in particular and Jagatsinghpur district in general. But instead of maintaining confidentiality, the SP let the letter go to the hand of Arindam Sarkhel (Baip Sarkhel). later, Sarkhel, who is a strong adversary of Rout, spoke against Rout. He told that the letter proves Rout is afraid of him.

On September 20, the Paradip BJD gave another letter to the SP and asked him to answer to some specific queries on criminal activities in Paradip. Paradip BJD president Sumanta Kumar Biswal, secretary Basanta Kumar Biswal, Ullash Chandra Biswal, Councilor Sankar Prasad Rout, Ajay Kumar Nayak, Manjulata Jena and Chapala Swain were present.
