The Crime Branch police would conduct a probe into the suspicious death of an electric department employee occurred at Naugaon in Jagatsinghpur district a month ego. Rajya Sabha MP Bishnu Das on Friday said Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has already asked CB to begin the probe.
Notably, the Naugaon BJD unit had threatened to stage an agitation on September 19in protest against local police’s indifference attitude in nabbing the culprits. Das said he had brought the matter into the Chief Minister’s attention on Thursday and demanded a CB probe. The Naugaon BJD unit has now deferred its proposed agitation, Das said
Notably, the electric employee at Alanahat section, Chandra Kanta Das, had gone missing on August 18. But his body was recovered from Goveri river near Alanahat two days later. Police are yet to nab the culprits.
