Crime Branch begins grilling Sabyasachi

Published on:

Arrested Maoist leader Sabyasachi Panda was brought to the Crime Branch (CB) headquarters here on Tuesday on a three-day remand for interrogation. This is for the second time the CB has taken Panda on remand ever since he was arrested at Brahmapur in June this year.

Among some 50 police cases Panda is entangled with, the CB is investigating in at least 12 of them, including the murder of VHP leader Swami laxmanananda Saraswati.

The last time Panda was brought here was on July 30 for a ten-day interrogation in connection with his involvement in the 2008 Nayagarh police armoury loot case and attack on the Nayagarh police station.
