Permission has been granted for opening firecracker shops in Cuttack city for Diwali celebrations, informed Cuttack DCP Prateek Singh on Monday.
A decision regarding the locations of the shops would be taken later. Maintaining of social distancing and wearing of mask would be mandatory at the shops, the DCP said.
Singh further informed that Kali Puja would be celebrated in the city amid adherence to the Covid-19 guidelines.
As many as 15 platoons of police force and 50 officers would be deployed during the Kali Puja celebrations, he added.
