The Khandadhar Suraksha Samiti under the banner of CPI(M) of Sundargarh District Committee has decided to protest against the decision of allowing South Korean company Posco for its mining activities in Khandadhar and Malangtoli.
CPI(M) State Secretariat member Bishnu Mohanty said in a press briefing that with the decision of the State and central Govts the people of Bonai subdivision are very much aggrieved as 15 gram panchayats of Bonei would be worst-affected by the proposed mining. With the mining in Khandadhar, the scenic waterfall there would vanish forever, the tourism glory of the location would be lost, the groundwater level would go down, forest and environment would be destroyed and polluted.
