The Left parties have been demanding to save people who are struggling to protect their livelihoods.On behalf of CPI(M) Bhubaneswar Committee led by its secretary Bimali Nayak, several party supporters, including Prabhat Panigrahi, Minati Panigrahi, Yashoda Nayak and Damburu Behera, staged a demonstration on Wednesday. The party demanded reduction in diesel and petrol prices, and prices of consumer goods; curbing black market and hoarding; supply 10 kg of rice/wheat per family for free; provision of free edible oils, pulses, tea, etc., to each family; financial assistance of Rs 4,500 per month to all families outside Income Tax purview and repeal of three anti-farmer agricultural laws.
